| Marianne Dunn was recently honored by her alma mater, Wesleyan College, with an award for Outstanding Achievement in a Profession. A well-known artist and teacher, her work hangs in numerous public and private collections including Coca-Cola, INVESCO, Emory University, Mercer University, and Norell Corporation.
Her paintings in oils and acrylics as wall as watercolor and pastel have won many awards. Her work embodies her own unique style of color and design, breaking the forms of nature into bold, almost abstract shapes and patterns. Although she has a wide range of subject matter, she favors landscapes and gardens because she is happiest when painting outdoors. The Florida native studied at The Parsons School of Design in New York before receiving her BFA from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. She began her career as a fashion artist in Atlanta, has been a courtroom artist, and has taught art classes and workshops privately and at the Wesleyan Center for the Arts. She travels often in Europe and Asia visiting museums, viewing art, sketching and painting, and gathering inspiration for her future works.
