Barbara Fountain, a native of Dallas, Texas began her art education in Atlanta, Georgia at the Art Institute and continued her studies for several years with many local and nationally known artists.
She travels several times a year to capture images and ideas for her paintings. Her approach to painting is that it presents a point of view, an interprtation and expression unique to the individual artist - each one being part fact, part fantasy.
After working 25 years in oil and watercolor, the last 5 years in pastel have been her most exciting. Painting in a traditional realistic manner, her love of the American landscape has never diminished and her passion for color and light has remained strong. Her award winning paintings have been exhibited in regional and national shows in the southeast and are in collections of corporations and private owners in a number of states.
She is an active member of the Atlanta Art Club and a Member of Excellance of the Southeastern Pastel Society.
