Artist Statement

To me, art is not an intellectual pursuit with a serious, tortured meaning behind each piece. Art should appeal first to the emotions and then to the mind. The color and form of a work should create a memorable first impression; one that reaches out and pulls the viewer back for a more detailed look.  In much the way music reaches a listener by creating a different mood, I hope to create that with the color and feel of my pieces.

“The purpose of art is not a rarified, intellectual distillate-it is life;
intensified, brilliant life.”                            Alain Arias-Misson
