Barry Sons has come to Atlanta from south Louisiana. Having been raised on the Atchafalaya River, his love and passion for coastal mashes and rivers combined with a love of nature and its ever-changing light is evident in his work. North Georgia and Tennessee have become a new passion for him, allowing him to study and explore a variety of landscapes.
Barry has served as President of the Atlanta Artists Center and paints full-time at Tula Studio on Bennet Street. His mediums are oil and pastel, and his passion for “en plein air” is manifest in his work.
“Atlanta has been good to me, and I have made so many wonderful friends here. I am so grateful. While Louisiana will always be home to me, I have found sanctuary in Georgia. This is now my home.” |
