To this day, she remembers the fiery words of her early mentor, "...painting is a lonely game of intense internal competition. It requires personal discipline and unlimited creativity. It demands great enthusiasm for life, endurance and persistence for loneliness. Like an athlete the demands to finish and be successful at the game requires much devotion."
Yuan Rong Zhou was born in Zhangzhou, Fujin, China 1963. As a child, she loved to sing, dance and swim. It was only after Yuan Rong graduated from high school did her talent for painting emerge. Yuan Rong worked in the Zhangzhou Mirror Arts and Craft as an art designer from 1980 to 1985. She started studying at Wen Ze Chen's studio in 1984. From 1985 to 1989, she studied in the most famous Xiamen Arts and Craft School and between 1990 and 1999 became the general manager and chief fashion designer for Chumei Fashion and Clothing Corporation in Zhangzhou, China. Yuan Rong came to the United States in 1999 and has resided in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia.
Painting and the various expressions that come from within is the embodiment of the soul and spirit.
